Error: Unable to Connect to SQL server after migration to new server or instance of SQL

Symptom: 
Unable to Connect to SQL Server Error:

Cause: 
Some SQL components installed on the workstation are out of date or pointing to the old server or instance. 
Resolution: 
Access Start>Run>type the following command substituting your server name:  \\servername\MIP Share\Setup



Double check on Uninstall.  
Follow the process through the final prompt and click 'OK'​



On the workstation navigate to Add/Remove programs or Programs and Features.  

Locate and uninstall the Microsoft Management Objects and System CLR Types. These are files that were delivered during the previous workstation installation to facilitate SQL connectivity. *These may vary based on your version of SQL at the server*



To Reinstall the workstation:

Access Start>Run>type the following command substituting your server name:  \\servername\MIP Share\Setup

Double click on Setup.exe - proceed through the installation prompt



Once the workstation is re-installed, you should be able to log in without issue.
